Young Writers' Challenge

The Young Writers’ Challenge was created to give kids aged 8-14 an opportunity to put their minds to the test and challenge their abilities. Held twice a year, participants will have the chance to write their own books. They can choose to write a picture book or a chapter book, and opt for either fiction or nonfiction. Rules and Eligibility

• Registration for the Summer Challenge is now open.
• Kits, including instructions, will be mailed by late May.
• Submissions will be due February 21st, 2025.

Competitors will receive a writing kit containing everything they need to write their own book as access to the instructional videos and a live Zoom kickoff.

• Beautiful Felt Folder 
• Rough Draft Book
• Hardback Book for Final Draft
• Wristband and Completion Certificate
• Pencil and Sticker
• Access to Step-By-Step Instructional Videos

Winners will have their books professionally illustrated, printed, and published through the Leap For Literacy Publishing Program.
